Lets talk about Refs. I feel like I gotta get a couple things off my chest right now.
First and foremost, I will give respect to these zebras who call the game and have to make real time decisions without the great camera angles we get at home. Not everyone can do their job, but not everyone should do their job, if you catch my drift.
Secondly, this technical thing has gotten out of hand, I don’t mind giving players technicals at all. If you aggressively disrespect the game or anyone playing the game, whether it be verbally or physically, then you deserve a tech. The key word here is aggressive.
Our most recent example is the Christmas game between the Dubs and the Cavs.
Draymond got called for a foul he did not commit and then acted liked an angry child. He was then given a tech for it but did not stop his actions, he continued to yell, stomp, and curse out officials but did not receive a second tech.
Later, Richard Jefferson posterized Kevin Durant, made eye contact with the traitor, smiled, and winked. Jefferson was also given a tech.
Finally, in the 4th quarter as part of their comeback, LeBron Dunked on like 3 dubs as he had a wide open entry path to the lane and hung on the rim for about 3 seconds, but did not receive a tech.
RT I don’t have a problem with technical fouls.
The only thing I ask is that techs be given with consistency. Draymond should’ve gotten two, Richard Jefferson shouldn’t have gotten any, and LeBron should’ve received one as well.
I understand your job is stressful and high paced, but its clear that in these circumstances, everyone can agree on consistency.
In closing remarks, the new CBA deal the players just signed, theres a hotline available for them to roast the refs without penalty, this is probably gonna be just as effective as the day after ref reports where they say what calls they missed.
Make the NBA great again.
