Today is Tim Duncan’s 40th Birthday and he just got the best birthday present ever…
According to multiple sources, including the Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry is out indefinitely for the next two weeks with a grade 1 knee sprain, after this period he will be reevaluated.
Ouch. I knew it was bad and it could have been worse.
This is where the Warriors stand as of today April 25th:
They’re up 3-1 against the Rockets and will win this series. Game 5 is Tomorrow and if the dubs win, and the Clippers close out their series in the next two games, Steph will miss a good part of the next series if not all of it, and will most certainly not be 100%.
What I am about to say is stupid, idiotic, childish, and incredibly naive, no I am not talking about LeBron.
They purposely lose the next two games and continue to pray that the Clippers do the same and maybe the Blazers win their series. The Dubs then turn it on during game 7 and then they go on to play the Blazers in the second round. The fact is they aren’t good enough to beat the Clippers without Curry.
This works out in two ways:
The series would theoretically start in about a week in a half (in which Steph could get better), and the Warriors could beat the Blazers without Steph (giving another week in a half rest for Curry).
This is combined 3 weeks rest for the MVP and then they try their hand at a well rested Spurs team or a well rested Thunder team.
If they did this, they risk losing game 7 against the Rockets and being knocked out of the playoffs and being slandered un-relentlessly by Pippen and the media.
Either way you look at it, it doesn’t look good for the dubs after this series and they’re gonna need consistent production from their starters turned role players.
But in the end if the Warriors play the Spurs without Steph, you might as well hand Timmy D his 6th ring, making his resume even stronger, as the greatest Power Forward to ever play the game.
Throw some respeck on it
