Appetizer: Warriors get their 73rd win and pass the Bulls, for most regular season
Steph also hit his 400th 3-pointer of the season, eclipsing the previous record, 286, which was set by himself last season.
Curry had 46 points but for the first time this NBA season, was not the main event.
Entrée: Kobe played his last game ever tonight, and just like his whole career, he put on a show, oh did he put on a show…
A few days ago, Apple released a commercial starring Kobe and Michael Jordan , Oh wait, not the GOAT MJ, but the actor, who has risen to stardom in the last few years, about Kobe’s aging body and his worst shooting season ever.
A couple of days ago it was announced that this Lakers game, Kobe’s final game, was gonna be bumped to ESPN2, because the dubs were getting bumped up to ESPN.
Maybe it’s time to start watching ESPN2 on the regular.
Today started with an “I hate you Kobe” commercial ,that was filled guest appearances, I won’t spoil it, but it was a nice commercial.
Onto his last performance.
For starters, in Mj’s final game, he put up 15 points on a Wednesday. Today, also a Wednesday, Kobe looked like he wanted 30, but the Mamba wanted twice that.
Nobody told him that wasn’t possible.
Mr. Kobe “Black Mamba” Bryant was introduced my Magic Johnson and had a magical first quarter stretch hitting a few shots in a row including a couple of threes, and had 37 entering the 4th quarter.
And the party hadn’t even started yet.
Kobe finished the 4th win 23 POINTS IN THE FOURTH QUARTER, including the game winning shot with 31.6 seconds left, to lead LA to the double-digit comeback win against Jazz, not resting for more than 5 seconds at the end of the game….on his way to….
Greatest event I’ve ever witnessed. Greater than his 81, because of what he’s gone through in the last few years.
Kobe addressed the L.A. crowd one last time after the game. Said “Mamba Out.” and literally dropped the mic on the floor of the Staples Center.
Just an amazing night from the beginning to the end. Guest appearances and admiration from everyone who had an impact on Kobe’s career from D. Fish to Jack Nicholson to Steph Curry, and everything in between.
The only thing that would’ve been greater would have been MJ himself showing up and the two GOATS having a moment just as GOATS do.
Nonetheless, Kobe did not disappoint. He came, He saw, He conquered…60 points.
Dessert: Food for thought (no pun intended), This last game will be a moment you’ll remember for a long time, and there will never be another Kobe moment. Ever. Hope you Enjoyed it.
